This article will have many words, phrases, and sentences that induce the Relaxation Response. We will use Relaxors, which induce the Relaxation Response. Stressors induce the Stress Response. Relaxors are soothers, and come in the forms of soothing images, words, touch, breathing, movement, etc. Relaxor words are the focus of this installment.

Thích Nhất Hạnh, age 94, a Buddhist monk, Zen Master, prolific author, and winner of the Nobel Peace Prize, has a one-minute relaxation technique in his book, Be Free Where You Are, called “Wonderful Moment.” He assigns a word or phrase to each slow, deep inhale and each exhale for six consecutive breaths.
