Marty Judnich
March – April 2025 • Vol 4, No 15

My name is Marty Judnich. My wife, Paige, and I live in Missoula with our three children. I lead a very active life as an attorney and President of Judnich Law Firm, with offices in Missoula and Bozeman. And I’m an avid outdoorsman, a golfer, and a competitive archer. I shoot archery arrows most every day for practice and enjoy competing in events.

However, over time my right shoulder began to hurt when shooting archery and it got progressively worse. I tried ice, heat, and physical therapy, yet nothing worked and my pain became excruciating. I finally went to the doctor and an MRI revealed that I needed right shoulder A/C joint surgical repair. I underwent that surgery in 2020, and initially saw results, but they were only temporary. Within a short time, my shoulder began to ache again and pain started to creep up in the same location.

I did not want to go the invasive surgical route again. That didn’t work, nor did I want to depend on pharmaceuticals that only mask the pain without addressing the root cause. My options seemed limited and rather dismal. It was discouraging to think that I may eventually have to give up archery.

Fortunately, I discovered Life Enhancement Clinics of Montana during an online search. After an initial consultation, I decided that was the way to go. I received three Human Umbilical Cord (HUCT) Allograft and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections in my right shoulder. I was given specific supplements for joint repair, and I actively did physical therapy and stretching to maximize the benefits of the injections.

After three-to-four months, I started to see real results. To date, I have kept my shoulder healthy and have resumed all my former activities, like golf and competitive archery, free of pain. I am so happy I chose the treatment protocol of Life Enhancement Clinics of Montana. The entire staff was friendly, efficient and caring, and my overall experience was enjoyable.

I highly recommend them to anyone experiencing issues with their joints and looking for great options.

Barbie Potter
January – February 2025 • Vol 4, No 14

My name is Barbie Potter. My husband Tom and I live in Manhattan, MT—the little apple, as we locals like to refer to it. We have been married for almost 40 years and have three children and eight grandkids. My husband and I are outdoor enthusiasts. I love horseback riding and running. And we both enjoy hiking, hunting, skiing, canoeing, and travel.

Unfortunately, the many years of physical activity did significant damage to my joints. I was diagnosed with degenerative osteoarthritis, where my left knee was literally bone-on-bone. I tried topical pain-relief creams and non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). I even tried the TENS unit (Trans-cutaneous Electrical Nerve Stimulation), a small battery-powered device that uses electrical currents to relieve pain. None of these methods helped.

I lived with the pain for ten years. In my younger years, I ran a marathon. I went from being a fit runner to not even being able to climb a flight of stairs without resting my knee half-way up. It was depressing to have to sit out hikes while my husband took the grandkids.

I discovered the Life Enhancement Clinics of Montana in 2020, while I was receiving chiropractic adjustments from Dr. Spence at the We Care Chiropractic Clinic in Bozeman. He told me about the incredible results people were having with the Human Umbilical Cord Tissue (HUCT) allograph injections. The patients’ testimonials were awe-inspiring. I attended his informational presentation and decided to try the procedure.

When I walked into the Bozeman clinic to receive my injection, I felt an aura of joy as everyone was excited for me. They gave me hope and the emotional support that I needed. I received only one injection in my knee. I continued with my chiropractic care and was given a nutritional and exercise program to facilitate my recovery.

After eight months, I noticed relief and even more so in the ninth and tenth month. At twelve months, I had no pain whatsoever. I felt great and was able to resume all my outdoor activities. The Life Enhancement treatment is not a band-aid or a temporary fix. It has been four years since I received my injection, and I am still doing well. Of course, I continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle.

I am 61 years old, and I have no intention of slowing down. My husband and I enjoy traveling, and one of our goals is to visit all the national parks in the system. This past summer, I went backpacking into the back country of Glacier National Park. That is something I would not have been able to do without the HUCT injection in my knee. In a couple of years, my daughters and I are planning to backpack 50 miles across Michigan’s Isle Royale National Park.

I am profoundly grateful to Dr. Spence Jahner and the exceptional staff at the Life Enhancement Clinics of Montana. They have given me a new lease on life. If you are experiencing joint pain and a lack of mobility, contact them. These folks genuinely care about people. You won’t be disappointed.

Val O’Connell
November – December 2024 • Vol 4, No 13

My name is Val O’Connell. My husband Daniel and I live south of Livingston in beautiful Paradise Valley. We have three children who attend Montana State University. Daniel and I are very active people. We enjoy hiking and walking in Yellowstone Park, and we are snowbirds, also enjoying the outdoor activities of warmer climates. We wintered in Morro Bay, California, where our girls attended college before they transferred back to MSU for grad school. We loved to surf and walk on the beaches. Morro Bay is where I became interested in the martial art Aikido and began training for my black belt.

I work for the largest solar company in Montana, Purelight Power Solar, where I sometimes walk for hours a day helping our field markets generate leads by knocking on doors. Unfortunately, the years of strenuous activity finally took its toll on my 50-something body. In 2020, I was diagnosed with an L-4 hernia and back arthritis. I tried many healing remedies, natural supplements, diet cures for arthritis, chiropractic, acupuncture, and massage therapy. These treatments gave me little relief. The pain got progressively worse, where I could no longer work, and it seemed like surgery was my last option. Back surgery is not al-ways successful as there is a risk that it could make my condition worse with a fused spine and more.

After suffering for two years, I came across an article in this magazine that inspired me. It was about the amazing benefits of Human Umbilical Cord Tissue allograft (HUCT) and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. In 2022, I made an appointment with the Bozeman Joint Repair Clinic of Montana. After an initial consultation with Dr. Spence, I received the therapy.

The very hour after the first treatment, I knew the doctor had found the right spot, because the initial injection site caused mild swelling that completely stopped my herniated disc from rubbing and hurting. The swelling wore off in a few days, and I was down to half the pain after only one month, which is when I got the second injection. By the third injection three months later, my pain was almost completely gone.

I have a fear of needles, and the medical team was very supportive, gently talking me through the few seconds it took to do each of the three injections. I especially like the heat pad to circulate the blood around the injection site. Then a cold spray is used to numb the needle injections that would otherwise scare me, causing nausea and vomiting. Instead of a needle that hurts, all I felt was a pinch that took two seconds. Thus, any fear or trauma of needles has not been a problem with this treatment.

The chiropractic care, the exercises, and the nutritional program the clinic gave me helped reduce most of the inflammation causing my arthritis. Then, I gave up what little wheat I still ate and that took away the remaining pain and soreness.

It has been two years, and my back is almost completely free of pain except when I get thrown around on the mat during black-belt training. My sciatica nerve got pinched recently during a three-day Aikido event. During the last few weeks, it got worse, with numbness and pain down my leg. I decided to return to the Bozeman clinic for another HUCT/PRP injection to treat this new injury. After the first injection, I am already noticing the sciatica nerve no longer feels pinched and the numbness and tingling pain is almost gone. I am sure that this area will be repaired as well with this new injection.

I am grateful to have discovered this cutting-edge technology and am thankful for the support of Dr. Spence and the entire staff at the Joint Repair Clinic of Montana. I am now living happily ever after,  pain-free! It’s a grace to be able to walk and stand again without any pain whatsoever. I have resumed my sales job and have completed my black belt training and my degree. I continue my Aikido training weekly. I fully support this treatment for anyone suffering with damaged bones, joints, and nerves.

Teresa Spitzer
September – October 2024 • Vol 4, No 12

My name is Teresa Spitzer. My husband, Dave and I live in Billings, where we have two children and three precious grandchildren. We both lead very active lives. I’ve been a nail technician for 34 years, and we own a large salon, “Nail-issimo! Salon and Spa,” where we do all the cleaning, maintenance, painting, and remodeling ourselves. Dave is a contractor, and we’ve built several of our personal homes over the years as well as remodeled a few, where I helped with painting, staining wood, construction cleanup, and landscaping.

Over the years, this type of work finally took its toll on my 58-year-old body. My joints were simply worn out from overuse. I had aches and pain just about everywhere—in my neck, thoracic spine, my right knee was bone-on-bone, and my left knee was almost bone-on-bone. I had such debilitating pain in my shoulders that on a scale from one to ten, my pain was about a 15! Eleven years prior, I had a bad sprained ankle that never completely healed, and my wrist was bone-on-bone, with severe, limited mobility. Nevertheless, I continued to work but with immense pain.

In October of 2021, I had a total knee replacement on my right knee. Horrible experience! I had so much pain and limited mobility that I couldn’t even bend 78 degrees. Over the years, I have received 31 cortisone shots in various joints. (These many shots can be detrimental to your joints.) They only masked the pain and gave me temporary relief.

Mainstream medicine does not get to the root of the problem; they only treat the symptoms. The doctors basically said no more cortisone shots. Surgery (a fusion) on my wrist would have offered 50% mobility and that wasn’t an option for me. The surgeon also discouraged it and said to live with the pain as long as I could. I wanted to heal—not more band-aids!

I was already looking into PRP injections as an alternative. Finally, in February of 2023, I learned that my brother-in-law, Steve, had received Human Umbilical Cord Tissue (HUCT) and Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) injections in both hips at the Joint Repair Clinic of Montana. I was so inspired by his positive results that I knew I had to try this method.

After my initial consultation with Dr. Spence in Bozeman, I received a total of eight HUCT/PRP injections at the Billings clinic. In March of 2023, they did my right and left shoulders, right wrist, and cervical 5 and 6. In August of 2023, because of the success I had previously, I opted to have them do my right ankle, right knee, left knee, and finally, in September of 2023, my thoracic spine got the treatment.

In about two weeks, the pain in both my shoulders slowly began to decline and they progressively got better and better. I hit the sweet spot at eleven months, where I was virtually pain-free. It felt great to have my life back! My knees are much better. I no longer walk with a limp, I can go up and down stairs with ease, and I have full range of motion in my wrist. I believe I made great progress because I followed the Joint Repair protocol 100%. I did not cheat, not even once, on following the nutritional guidelines, the vitamin regimen, or the exercise program, along with receiving regular chiropractic adjustments.

I am grateful to the amazing staff at the Joint Repair Clinic of Montana. They are knowledgeable, friendly, and they genuinely care about people. Whenever I had a question, Dr. Spence would call me personally. It meant a lot to me that the doctor himself would take the time out of his busy schedule to answer my questions.

Some folks may be reluctant to try this method because they already feel defeated. They have suffered so long and have tried everything from pain medications to cortisone shots, and even surgery with little relief. I’ve been there, and yet this program has miraculously improved my life. I highly recommend the Joint Repair Clinic of Montana to anyone struggling with joint pain. There is always hope.

On Valentine’s Day 2023, We Gave Each Other the Gift of Pain-Free Health!

Charles & Diana Knox
May – Jun 2024 • Vol 4, No 10

Our names are Charles and Diana Knox. We are both born and raised in beautiful Montana and our home is in Montana City. We have three children and two grandchildren. We are active outdoors people—hiking, snowshoeing, boating, driftwood hunting, exploring in our ATV.

CHARLES’ STORY:

I have always enjoyed many outdoor activities, like motorcycling and four-wheeling, but that all came to a halt in 2015 when I was involved in a car accident in Missouri. A girl driving 75 miles per hour rear-ended me, causing severe damage to my neck cervical nerve.

I experienced excruciating pain in my neck and shoulders. I tried everything—physical therapy, chiropractor care… Nothing worked! I am a corporate pilot, and it was very difficult at times as we sit forward, often looking down at the flight computers to program them. The pain was actually worse at work as I was in such a confined space.

After seven long years of misery, I came across Tony Robbins’s book, “Life Force,” where he claimed Human Umbilical Cord Tissue (HUCT) therapy saved his shoulder after struggling with spinal stenosis and a torn rotator cuff for 14 years. I was so inspired by his successful recovery that I began extensively researching the subject.

My wife has bad knees, so we made an appointment with Dr. Spence at the Joint Repair & Life Enhancement Clinic in Bozeman. We were given a diet and a supplement protocol, and received our treatment at the Helena Clinic on February 14th, 2023—Valentine’s Day! I received HUCT and PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) injections in both sides of my neck. I noticed improvement shortly after the injections, and within six weeks, I experienced a total recovery. I was ecstatic! For the first time in years, I could move my neck and shoulders without pain. At 59 years of age, I was able to resume all of my former outdoor activities.

DIANA’S STORY:

My story began in the summer of 2016 when I was employed at an arboretum and garden center. I was kneeling on the ground doing some planting when I noticed a slight pain in both knees. The pain was minimal, so I continued working through the fall of that year.

Things began to change in 2019, when my husband and I were planning a sightseeing trip to New York City. By this time, the pain was unbearable, so I scheduled a visit with an orthopedic surgeon who gave me a cortisone injection in my right knee, which worked as a temporary band-aid so that I could enjoy our trip. Its pain-blocking effects wore off in just three months, and it did nothing to benefit or improve my degenerating knee.

In 2022, the pain in my right knee became so severe that even walking was excruciating and stairs were pretty much out of the question. So back to the surgeon I went. The conclusion from the X-rays revealed that I was bone-on-bone. I was given the choice of either getting it “cleaned up” by arthroscopic surgery or a total knee replacement. I chose arthroscopic surgery—anything but a total knee replacement! I knew it was just another band-aid, but at least I could get outside and enjoy my activities once again.

By late 2023, my knee took a turn for the worse. I could no longer walk my dogs, which saddened me. I had to use the hand railing to get up and down stairs. I remember laying on the bed in such pain that I just rolled back and forth in tears. Now what? Knee re-placement surgery? Ugh! To our great fortune, this is when Charles discovered Tony Robbins’ book, “Life Force.” Talk about feeling old—both of us were not even 60 yet! This was the “path” we were both highly interested in.

It didn’t take us long to find the Joint Repair & Life Enhancement Clinics of Montana. On Valentine’s Day, we both received our injections, Charles on his neck and me on my knees. It was a day we will never forget. By the end of March, six weeks later, I began to feel relief in my knee, with no pain whatsoever! The injections gave me back my knees and my lifestyle. Since then, my brother has had the treatment as well and is doing fantastic. We’re so impressed by the efficacy of both the HUCT and the PRP protocols.

We are deeply grateful to Dr. Spence and the compassionate staff in Bozeman and Helena. Our recovery in such a short time was indeed a miracle. Everyone needs to know about this amazing procedure, as it offers the hope that we can lead active lifestyles well into our golden years. On Valentine’s Day 2023, we walked into JRC hand-in-hand. Instead of flowers, candy, or a romantic dinner, we gave each other the best gift of all—the gift of pain-free health!

Natural Joint Repair Without Pain Pills or Surgery

“Sometimes what looks like an obstacle from an injury is actually a gift meant to move you in a different direction.”

Nori (Hoff) Stark
Mar – Apr 2024 • Vol 4, No 9

My name is Nori (Hoff) Stark. I live in Victor, MT with my husband, Rudy. I have led a very interesting, blessed life, and a challenging one! I grew up in a family of twelve people—seven brothers and two sisters. We all rodeoed, ranched, and farmed for many years together. Riding calves, steers, a long cow once, doing barrel and poles. All the special events came with bumps, bruises, stitches, scars and, of course, bragging rights if I beat any of my brothers in the same event. Buckles, money, and trophies were our winners.

I continued to rodeo with my husband and our three children, Dixie, Dillon, and Emmett until 2000. We ranched, raised Catahoula dogs, calved out plenty of heifers and many mama cows throughout the years. We raised feedlots full of steers and 70 plus horses that I handled from halter-breaking the colts, and put the first 10–20 rides on them. That’s lots of wear and tear on one’s back, arms, and legs!

Ranching comes with big expenses, not just in livestock or the dead stock, but with whatever Mother Nature can do to knock you down and whatever Old Man Winter can do to shut you down. Season of excitement, as we used to say, along with the injuries you might sustain on a ranch.

In 2005, I was kicked in the face by a 700-pound steer. The kick broke all the bones on the right side of my face except for my lower jaw, and I received 8 plates and 22 screws. Then on Thanksgiving Day, 2012, I was in a head-on collision with a 97-mile-an-hour impact as a passenger! A 16-year-old girl, driving on a two-lane, icy, snow-covered highway, lost control of her car, sliding into our lane. She hit us not once but four times, bouncing off our 24-foot trailer. We all survived the horrible accident. Thank you, Jesus!

A few years later, I was hit by a drunk driver as I walked across the street in Cody, Wyoming. A woman blew through the red light at 40 miles an hour and hit me, throwing me into her windshield with my neck hitting the roof, sending me 30+ feet in the air, then dropping me back down on the street. I remember being badly hurt, yet I felt a sense of calm and comfort, as I knew I would be OK. His presence was with me. And by the grace of God, I had no broken bones, just very beat up shoulders.

A year later my blood sugar fell very low, and I fell on my face, shattering my nose and hurting my neck. Clearly, I have definitely had my share of mishaps in this life. At 115 pounds and 64 years of age, my body was quite beat up.

In the fall of 2022, I saw an ad and video on the Internet about Human Umbilical Cord Tissue (HUCT) injections with follow-up interviews from patients who had received positive results from the treatment. Being a tough girl and not wanting any kind of surgery, I called the Bozeman Joint Repair Clinic. I spoke to Jennifer Carter who explained the easy procedure of a total of three injections to the joint in need. She shared with me the many impressive praise reports of happy patients, as well as her own story of HUCT.

After an initial consultation with Dr. Spence in Bozeman, I received my treatment from the wonderful staff at the Missoula Joint Repair Clinic. Libby administers the injections, and Abby is the receptionist. Both ladies were positive, helpful, and very reassuring. I received HUCT injections in both sides of my neck, both sides of my back, both knees, both shoulders, and in an arthritic knuckle on my right hand. Then, a month later, I received Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) injections. I was also given a customized nutritional program to help speed up the recovery process.

In less than three months, I was able to resume all of my former activities. My knees and the knuckle on my right hand had no swelling or inflammation. It was like a miracle! I was able to enjoy life again, taking long walks, bicycle riding, riding motorcycles, riding Rudy’s mules through the mountains, and snowmobiling. The choice to not seek surgery and the opportunity to share my healing journey with others in just a year’s time is quite rewarding and promising for more improvement. My back and neck are also loving the injections that are doing their amazing job.

My husband, Rudy, has recently received the HUCT injections in his right ankle due to injuries resulting from his many years of motocross racing and snowmobiling. He was so impressed with my progress in such a short time and added that the Joint Repair treatments have been “a great investment.”

Now we can enjoy many more awesome adventures riding the trails through the Bitterroots. I thank God every day that I am here with Him in the presence of so many good people. I owe all the praise to Dr. Spence and his staff at the Joint Repair Clinic, and everyone who has studied the fascinating results of HUCT injections. It has given me a better life at 64 years of age. Choosing this non-surgical way to make our joints happy and healthy has been the best decision for Rudy and I both. It may be the best decision for you as well if you have suffered injuries or have experienced stiff, painful joints.

“Sometimes what looks like an obstacle from an injury is actually a gift meant to move you in a different direction.” That is exactly what the injections have done for my husband Rudy and I. As Dr. Spence says, “Motion is lotion… Keep a-moving!”

“I have known Nori for over three years, enjoying many walks and fun times. During the first two years, she was constantly troubled by the pain in her knees, shoulder, and knuckles, causing our walks to be slow and short. Some days, she would show me the inflammation in her knees and finger joints that were causing her so much debilitating pain. Her bubbly personality was worn by the constant struggle with the discomfort and pain.

She told me she had chosen HUCT injections instead of surgery. What an amazing choice! Her giddy-up returned and her gait was at full stride. The inflammation in her knuckles, knees, and back had significantly subsided. Along with the dramatic physical mobility changes, it was wonderful to see the pain subside from her face and body in just a few months.”

—Sincerely, Tacy Fleener

Natural Joint Repair Without Pain Pills or Surgery

Feel Young Again!

Nancy Hufnagel
Jan – Feb 2024 • Vol 4, No 8

If you are suffering from joint pain and mobility issues, life can be miserable. Walking, climbing stairs, or even getting up out of a chair can be difficult. When someone experiences loss of mobility and the subsequent loss of independence, it can lead to social isolation, loneliness, and depression. Osteoarthritis or degenerative joint disease affects over 30 million Americans. It is a progressive joint problem that leads to a breakdown and loss of cartilage and the formation of bone spurs.

Mainstream medicine offers no real solution to this issue. Over-the-counter or prescribed medications mask the pain but do not get to the root of the problem. And they can have serious side effects such as stomach upset, heartburn, and even an ulcer. NSAIDS (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs) other than aspirin can raise your chance of having heart disease, heart attack, or a stroke.

Too often doctors use cortisone shots to deal with the pain, and they also have serious side effects: cartilage damage, death of a nearby bone, joint infection, and nerve damage. And joint-replacement surgery is not always successful—some patients who get a hip or knee replacement will experience failure of the new joint.

Fortunately, there is hope. Joint Repair Clinic of Montana offers state-of-the-art non-surgical procedures for joint pain and mobility issues. Human umbilical cord tissue (HUCT) allograft injections have the remarkable ability to provide cushioning and viscosity in the joints and serve to increase range of motion. And platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the improvement of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints. In this way, PRP injections use each individual patient’s own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems.

Many patients have experienced remarkable success after receiving these injections. The clinic also offers ozone therapy, red light therapy, chiropractic care, and customized nutritional programs, Motion X-Rays, Stem wave, medical weight loss/Semaglutide Injections, and Bioidentical Hormone Optimization. One patient even likened his experience with the Joint Repair Clinic to finding the fountain of youth!

TESTIMONIALS:

Joint Repair Clinic, in conjunction with We Care Chiropractic, gave me a new lease on life. What brought me there was an accident I’d suffered last winter where I slipped on black ice and ruptured my left quadriceps tendon. While they initially did not address this directly, I had gone there to avoid structural imbalances that occur throughout the skeleton when one is impaired. I wanted to avoid compensations and further discomfort. After a series of X-rays, I saw that I had spinal degeneration in my lower back and neck as well as in my knees. I began a course of Stem-cell Therapy and PRP in conjunction with chiropractic care with three visits each week. Miraculously, now five months later, I feel like a new person!
—David Harris (5 Star Review)

After years of having aching arthritis in my right shoulder, the pain changed and became much more intense. It immobilized my arm to the point I couldn’t lift a glass. As I researched viable alternatives, and at first, I tried only the PRP injection, which helped reduce my pain but only for about two weeks. I found Joint Repair of Montana and learned I needed a real stem cell injection to rebuild my cartilage. The advanced umbilical-cord stem-cell therapy seemed better than getting surgery or extracting my own stem cells, so I got a simple shot in my shoulder. Within 24 hours, I started feeling a softening of the pain, and within two weeks my arm felt normal, and it’s been that way for several months! It’s now actually better than my left shoulder, and I’m considering having Joint Repair Clinic inject that one, too

Without Pain Pills or Surgery

Ken Mueller, a Patient
Nov – Dec 2023 • Vol 4, No 7

My name is Ken Mueller. I presently reside in Missoula, where I am house painting with my son, Leif. All my life, I have been very active, biking, hunting, fishing, and I’ve especially enjoyed hiking at the beautiful Pine Creek Falls near Livingston. The natural beauty of the environment is breathtaking, and the robust walk to the falls is invigorating.

Hard physical labor has always been part of my work history. For 17 years, I worked in the oil fields of Alaska and North Dakota, working on a drilling rig. The repetitive heavy lifting required for the job affected my back, legs, and knees. And when I moved to Montana in 1994, I started a house painting business which meant I was constantly up and down ladders, carrying ladders and heavy buckets of paint. All those years of strenuous activity finally took a toll on this 70-year-old body, and to make matters worse, my foot slipped off the ladder while I was painting my mother’s house.

To keep from falling, I hyper-flexed my leg which caused a tear in the meniscus cartilage in my right knee. It hurt, but the pain was tolerable so I continued to work. Yet three months later, the pain became so excruciating that I could hardly walk or get in and out of my truck.

My later career as a truck driver in the North Dakota oilfields was thrown in jeopardy due to the pain I was currently experiencing in my right knee. Fortunately, I was covered by my employer’s insurance plan and could get arthroscopic surgery performed, a procedure that removes the torn, frayed cartilage which permits the internal wound to heal, reduces the pain, and improves movement.

After taking some time off for healing, I was finally able to return to work. My range-of-motion improved, my knee felt better, but it was short-lived. Pictures taken at the time of my surgery showed that I was bone-on-bone at two friction points within the knee joint. This was alarming! I did not want to go the mainstream medical route of pain killers, cortisone and steroids that only mask the pain. A full knee replacement was not an option. This surgery is not always successful and even the newest models eventually wear out. There had to be a better way.

When I discovered a series of Joint Repair Clinic articles in this magazine, it was like an answer to a prayer. The logical information and testimonies gave me hope. I read that Human Umbilical Cord Tissue (HUCT) Allograft Injections have the remarkable ability to provide cushioning and viscosity in the joints and serve to increase range of motion.

The platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy uses injections of a concentration of a patient’s own platelets to accelerate the healing of injured tendons, ligaments, muscles, and joints. In this way, PRP injections use each individual patient’s own healing system to improve musculoskeletal problems.

This natural common-sense approach appealed to me. And the rest, as they say, is history.

I booked an appointment to Joint Repair Clinic of MT and received my treatment through their Missoula clinic. My program included X-rays, chiropractic adjustments, and HUCT and PRP injections in my right knee. The supportive staff also coached me on nutrition and exercises.

I can honestly say that I felt improvement within the first week. Of course, natural healing is not an overnight quick fix, but my knee got progressively better over the next few months. It was such a relief to be able to walk without pain and to resume some of my former activities.

I am thankful to the folks at Joint Repair Clinic. Today, I am working long hours house painting with my 30-something son, and I’m able to pull my weight. I even have a measure of gratitude for my knee issues. It was a wake-up call. For years, I studied nutrition and even wrote articles about it. And yet, I did not always follow a healthy lifestyle.

Once I made the commitment to the Joint Repair protocol, I wanted to do everything I could to facilitate the healing. I made major lifestyle changes: more organic foods, fresh fruits and vegetables, vitamins, minerals, and I receive chiropractic adjustments twice a week from Dr. Kevin Krieg in Missoula.

Most importantly, I made an attitude adjustment. Society, and especially the medical com-munity, says that you must decline as you age, and of course, you need a cabinet full of expensive pharmaceuticals to keep you going. Well, I don’t believe that. It is time to retire that dismal old stereotype. No way will I go quietly into the night as I age. I plan to take care of my health, stay active, and keep a positive attitude so that my golden years are truly golden. The treatments at Joint Repair Clinic, as well as a number of other fine natural therapies are the wave of the future.

Without Pain Pills or Surgery—My Story

Clint Branger
March – April 2023 • Vol 4, No 3

My name is Clint Branger, and I am 58 years old. I was born in Red Lodge and raised in Roscoe where I live today. I’m sharing this story as a way of giving back a little bit for what I got. I feel good about saying what has happened with my knee, as it has really changed my life. Perhaps my story can help others know about this amazing medical opportunity.

When I was a Junior in high school, I was pole vaulting and didn’t have a spotter. I landed wrong and really messed up my knee. I had to have knee surgery at 18 years old. The doctors did a good job back then, and my knee recovered to function wonderfully for me for many years.

I grew up on the ranch and began bull-riding when I was 12. At 20 I started traveling the rodeo circuit full time. I sustained lots of injuries and really abused my knee a lot through my bull-riding years. I learned real quick when I got off a bull that if I didn’t have a good spot I would just land on my knee—which was better than landing on my foot—but it really abused it. It was amazing what my body was able to endure all those years, but I never gave my knee a break, and it really caught up with me later in life.

A typical day on my ranch involves being on horseback for about 4 hours per day. We ride on some of the steepest country, and are on our horses constantly as we move cattle. Doing that all day long wears you out, and you get tired.

In 2018 I was blessed to marry my wife Janna, and we now have the pleasure of running both my ranch in MT and her ranch in WY together. Her ranch requires us to be on horseback all day long, which really impacted my knee. Ever since I started those longer days of riding, I began noticing my knee starting to hurt quite a bit.

It started with an arthritic pain in my knee that was a constant annoyance. I would push through the pain and live with it, but I didn’t enjoy it. While working, my mind would be so focused on my work that I could endure the pain. But I would really feel it most when I was trying to relax and had time to think about it. When I would get up to walk, my knee would really hurt, and it was becoming a real problem. Arthritis pain is hard to explain, but when you are bone-on-bone on the inside of the knee, it really hurts.

The longer hours on horseback pushed me to the edge, as it was really impacting me, and I was ready to do anything to fix it. People said I might need a knee replacement. It seemed everyone around me was talking about getting knee replacements. That was all I knew to do in order to stop being in pain.

I was determined to do all I could to get it replaced, but being a type 1 diabetic, I was required to put off knee replacement surgery until I could get my blood sugar levels down in order to avoid infection. I successfully lowered my A1C and got myself lined up for surgery in the Fall of 2022.

Then I saw an ad on Instagram for the Joint Repair Clinic of MT and their natural alternatives to surgery. It caught my eye, and I thought I should look into the option for avoiding surgery. I talked with the doctor on the phone, and we went over my x-rays and discussed a treatment program that would help re-cushion my joints and lubricate my knee to take away the pain.

In my mind, I could relate that to putting hydraulic fluid in there, and it made sense to me as to how that could really help. I thought it was worth giving this a try before going through an irreversible replacement surgery. In the spring of 2022, I began my treatment program. Within a few days of the PRP treatment, I started to feel some noticeable results. It was just amazing to no longer feel the pain—it was really gone!

Ranch life requires me to keep pushing through. The work has to get done. Before getting help from the Joint Repair Clinic of MT, depending on how much work I was doing, it would get to where it was really a lot of misery. The pain was impacting my ability to fully enjoy my life. Now I no longer suffer from the arthritic pain in my knee like I did before. I can once again enjoy the simple things I love, like spending time with my wife.

A short while ago, we had a really long day up in the mountains in the BigHorn Basin and on the way out, it was mostly downhill—I started to feel a little reminder of the pain in my knee, and I was concerned about what the next day was going to be like, but when I got up the next day, there was no pain! It was a miracle—the pain is gone, and it has been such a blessing to be able to enjoy life without pain again.

Prior to the treatment, my arthritic knee hurt no matter what I was doing. Even when just sitting, eating or laying down to sleep. The pain was there all the time—it didn’t have a day off!

After the treatment, I have no arthritic pain—it is incredible—it is truly gone!

I can enjoy life that much more now that I don’t have the pain, and I am so thankful that I found the Joint Repair Clinic of MT and got their help.

Without Pain Pills or Surgery! — My Story

George Rabel
January – February 2023 • Vol 4, No 2

My name is George Rabel. I was born and raised in Montana. I grew up on a ranch near Deer Lodge and moved to the Gallatin Valley in 1972. My wife Deborah and I have been blessed with 4 children and 3 grandchildren. I am the owner and operator of a successful excavation company here in the valley, and I also enjoy leading my congregation as pastor of the Gateway Bible Church.

When I was 19, I was involved in an accident where a tree fell across my legs. It tore up the cartilage and ligaments in my knee. Thankfully an army doctor put it back together, and it was all better for a large part of my life. Then, at the age of 64, it started hurting and becoming an issue. I tried to ignore it and push through, but it just continued getting worse and worse.

As an excavation contractor, I am accustomed to climbing in and out of equipment all day long. The common practice of jumping down to the ground from my machinery was no longer an option.

Instead, the transfers became laborious, time consuming and downright painful. Needless to say, this is not a desirable way to go about my daily occupation and activities. Additionally, a good night’s rest had become difficult to attain because I could no longer lay on my side and put my legs together without pain.

This went on for about 4 years, and my struggles had become known to my friends and congregation. I was having difficulty getting back up after kneeling down, and it got to the point where I could not even climb a ladder anymore. Hunting and other similar recreational activities were no longer an option, as I could not walk on sidehills or endure the physical demands placed on my knee. At this point I had not yet tried any treatment methods, and when I went to the orthopedic doctor to see about getting a new knee, he told me that I wasn’t ready for one yet. It didn’t seem there would be a good solution in the near future. My life was becoming increasingly more difficult and painful.

Then, one day at church camp, a friend shared with me about his life changing experience with the Human Umbilical Cord Tissue (HUCT) Allograft Injections and Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments that he had gotten at the Joint Repair Clinic of MT. He told me about how the injections were a tremendous help to his joint issues. By putting cushioning back into the joint spaces and addressing the inflammation in a natural manner, his pain and mobility issues were drastically improved. He likened the change it made in his joints to being the closest thing he would find to the “fountain of youth” in his lifetime!

Debbie and I decided we should meet with the doctor at the Joint Repair Clinic of MT to see if this might be a good option for my knee. We enjoyed meeting the friendly staff at the clinic and were thankful to learn from Dr. Jahner that I would be a good candidate for their treatment program. What I was most excited about was being able to avoid an invasive surgery with a long recovery time. I didn’t mind spending the money on an alternative, natural approach because I knew it had worked well for others, and I had hope that it would work well for me, too. I also knew that I could always go for surgery if it didn’t work, but I would much rather do what I could to avoid that option if at all possible.

The allograft injection initiated a natural process in my knee that caused it to get better and better over time. Within about 7 months I was pain free! This treatment method is in stark contrast to the mainstream medicine approach of using harmful cortisone and steroids which can provide a quick fix pain blocker but do nothing to address or improve the root issue. With the allograft injection, my knee is now healthier and stronger. I have turned the direction of my joint health around and believe I will get many more years out of my own knee now. I have not had any joint surgeries, and I believe I won’t need any now that I know about this option to avoid surgery and save my joints with HUCT and PRP.

Getting back the pain-free use of my knee has been life changing for me. The things I am most grateful for are: I can now get in and out of my equipment without pain; I can once again climb a ladder, and it is way easier to get back up after spending time down on my knees! Now that my knee doesn’t hurt anymore, I am working on strengthening it, and I look forward to doing more physical activities. Debbie and I used to enjoy going to the races and haven’t been in years. We hope to enjoy more activities together now that I am not weighed down with pain. I am also looking forward to going hunting again too!

Part of the Joint Repair Clinic’s program includes exercise and nutrition counseling. As a result, I am now eating better and overall feeling better too. I would highly recommend others struggling with joint pain issues to call the Joint Repair Clinic to see if they would be a candidate for this wonderful program. I am thankful that I did!
