Here are a few examples from my many years as a consulting astrologer. These two consulting sessions began with me calculating an event chart for the moment they arrived at my office. The birth chart and its updates followed after. The names, dates and places were altered or omitted, but the discussions were real.

Jill sat down, and I did an event chart, the chart for the moment she appeared at my office. She was in her mid-20s. It was a Saturday afternoon at 12:01 pm, when I charted the moment she sat with me. I told her that there was a critical condition surrounding a friend or group.
I noticed Mercury was in the 11th House of friends and 1 degree from conjunction with the North Node in Cancer. She was very emotional and jittery. There was some belief system that was being imposed on her, and she said that she found a better one. She was moving on with her life. The Moon (feelings) was at 5 degrees and 31 minutes of Sagittarius (beliefs) in the 3rd House of thoughts. This traditionally represented five and a half months (by applying 1 degree for each month but I used weeks as a timer), pertaining to the last planet the Moon passed over. That planet was Mars in Cancer, also in the 11th. This re-enforced the idea that some belief system had been leveled against her. She said she left home six weeks ago after a fight with her mom. The timing was off by a week and a half.
There was some limiting condition or pressure. She said, “My friend (11th House) and I are not talking.” Mercury (talking), the Ascendant ruler, was opposed by Saturn-Pluto in the 5th House.
The problem was in her 5th House (love life). The opposition took place inside the 5th/11th House axis of giving and receiving love. She kept reliving the memories of her problem with her boyfriend and the sense that she was “being blocked.”
I suggested that she take a walk around the block. She laughed. I sensed that the laugh changed something in her energy field. The energy I felt when she first sat down, which was very heavy, had gone. She had a different perspective at that instant and smiled a big smile, then laughed.

Anne Hill walked into my office in Bellevue, WA. I felt a strong current of force coming from her. “Do you read Tarot?” she asked, but it was more of a “You’re gonna read my cards, right?” I said that I would apply astrology for this session. She sat down and said to her husband: “I need to be alone.” Then she said something dramatically funny: “Before you go, leave me the money.”
I noticed the time she entered and charted it. I produced the event chart for the time 3:36:00 pm on June 14, 2019. Libra was on the Ascendant and Venus was in the 8th House in Gemini. Its ruler, Mercury, was in Cancer in the 9th House.
I told her that there was something about being “yoked together with someone,” in a deep emotional relationship. I used the terms life conditions, renewal and core issues that touch the fabric of existence. Then I asked: was there a loss? That question was all it took for something to happen. She cried the words: “Yes, there was a loss,” she said. Tears gushed down her face.
I entreated the angels to come with me as I changed focus and went into her past, using her natal horoscope. This wasn’t a past life reading, as I don’t claim to conduct them. Yet it was very simple to see the early home life in her chart, then travel through the years to a certain point that was relevant to her in the session.
I looked at certain conditions at age four. I based it on Solar Arc; Pluto opposed Venus at that age. This aspect represented powerful energies focused on a young child’s feelings. I required some context to gain meaning, so I asked what life-altering event occurred.
She said that she almost drowned. We talked about that event and went forward in time. I expanded on the chart’s patterns related to her powerful leadership skills and need for appreciation, based on her Sun in Aries and Moon in Libra.
I noticed transiting Saturn’s square to natal Venus and asked her about having to slow (Saturn) her dynamic pace down, around the last two weeks of May and early June. She confirmed the timing.
I asked if cold water had been poured over her enthusiasm. She said yes and that she had been struggling with the memory of her son’s death. This was the essence of the event chart, for 3:36 pm. It had Venus (the chart ruler) in Gemini (thinking) in the 8th House (death). She was carrying this record in her aura when she arrived for the session. My work was to help her reconcile the trauma, which was tied up with this memory. Or what good is astrology? The next thing she said was poignant:
“My son drowned when he was four, the same age that I almost drowned!”
With Mercury as Venus’ depositor in the 9th House of religion and philosophy, she had been searching (9th House) for some way to make sense out of it all. I recommended radical forgiveness as a start. She had been burdening herself with somehow causing his death. I could feel a knot in my belly. I mentally spoke to the energy in me, “I love you, I am sorry, please forgive me, thank you.” I repeated that phrase to myself until the knot was gone. As I worked on the feelings of guilt in my energy field, my client felt differently.
After our session, she said she was feeling wonderful. I could sense a difference in her. I recommended seeking out an experienced counselor. She felt energetically more coherent to me.
I also proposed that she secure the book, Zero Limits by Joe Vitale and Dr. Hew Len. I spoke to her about how Dr. Len did inner work on himself and the corresponding healing of criminally insane convicts. She hugged me after the session, and I used that opportunity to allow the light coming through me to bless her even more. She left my office a new woman.
