and Finding True Freedom

“Don’t talk about religion and politics” is what they say—it creates division! And unfortunately, that is oftentimes true. When people talk religion, there seems to be the need to convince the listener that the speaker’s path to God is the only one. “That particular word in the Bible, just not quite meaning what the listener thinks it does.” Even many biblical scholars disagree on explanations of many words!
Just like in politics. The only right political view is the speaker’s one, trying to convince the opposite party believer that they are wrong. Even those in the Supreme Court differ in opinion about the interpretation of the Constitution!
The truth is that it doesn’t need to create division. When we think about it correctly, talking religion or politics may actually bring more understanding of our true nature… Where does this division come from? We may have to go back to the Garden of Eden. The mistake was made to believe a lie! That’s where division started.
Ponder this: Man is created in the image of God. Man/woman is a spirit in the flesh and supposed to follow certain guidelines to live by, given by the great Teacher Jesus when he gave us The Greatest Commandment: Love the Lord your God with all your strength, and all your soul, and all your mind, and love your neighbor as yourself.
That is the most important rule to live by! Besides the Ten Commandments given to us through Moses, what other rules/ laws/regulations/ordinances do we need when everyone abides by these rules?
The Declaration of Independence, together with the US Constitution, clarify the Christian heritage of this nation for all to see: “That we are all created equal and endowed with certain inalienable rights”—which come from God or Nature, and that we have a duty to abide by the “Greatest Commandment” and the “Ten Commandments” as our governing laws.
The ultimate goal of the Christian foundation of our nation be-comes clear: To be a beacon of freedom to the world—to set an example for all to follow. Who could be against this?
Back to the original fall from grace… Throughout the course of history, through divide-and-conquer tactics, religion and politics have become separate and divisive. The commandments were still preached but not adhered to. More laws, rules, and regulations became necessary and thus, politics was born. Think of it this way: Poly = many, Tick = a blood sucking insect!
Oppressive societies materialized as a “conspiracy” between priests and political rulers/kings: “You keep them divided, while we will keep them poor.”
Division and infighting became commonplace. Most wars were about religion, economy, and politics. A different interpretation of who or what God is… this was usually all that was needed to start a fight. And when you didn’t believe in accordance with the most common biblical viewpoint of the time, boy, you were bound for hell! And those in power, with one hand on the bible, would gratefully help you with that!
Centuries of warfare happened because of different biblical opinions. The winners, or those who could best articulate their view, would influence the common people to adopt their vision of who and what God is—if not willingly, then forcefully. How many so-called Christian “cults” do we have? (Not to speak of other religions!) And each of them thinks that they are right and the only right ones!
Our present educational system, controlled by the powers that be, started to teach evolution as a science. Teach kids that we come from apes, and it becomes science! To keep having power over the people, division and lies need to be perpetuated. Soon, a new division was created, now among family members—kids with their “new evolution” viewpoint, while the parents stuck with the Creational view.
A few quotes about education, first by Stalin: “Education is a weapon the effect of which is determined by the hand which wields it, and by who is to be struck down.” And by Wu Ting-Fang (1842, Chinese diplomat and politician): “Education is like a double-edged sword. It may be turned to dangerous uses if it is not properly handled.”
In politics, the implementation of a two- or multi-party system started to divide the nation politically. Our Founding Fathers warned us about this. Instead of following the Constitution as statesmen, politics became the order of the day—again, divide and conquer! Nowadays, our Christian heritage is not only absent from the schools, its very existence is denied, and we see the fruits of this in every part of life.
Brainwashing goes a long way. A lie repeated enough becomes ingrained in the brain and seems to become the truth. “The earth is flat!” The propaganda machines are working overtime in our schools, in the entertainment industry, in advertising, science, the media, etc. With the TV on 24/7, it acts like hypnosis. The former president of CBS News, Richard Salant said, “Our job is to give people not what they want, but what WE decide they ought to have.”
The perpetuated lies are responsible for the gradual breakdown and moral decline in our nation. We have forgotten that a Higher Power is the ultimate lawmaker and that mankind needs to understand and abide by God’s Universal Cosmic Laws.
Through the implementation of the idea that humans are no more than apes with a chemical body through which electricity runs, the human ego is strengthened in the belief that science, with the assist of government, can solve all our problems. This “electricity-in-the-brain,” science explains, sometimes causes, short circuits with hallucinations, which is the reason that humans have the IDEA that there is a God—thus, science aids politics, and vice versa!
Also from this viewpoint comes the so-called science of medicine—a completely materialistic view of man, bringing about modern medicine with its symptom suppression, its chemicals, radiation and surgery. We are told, that everything can be cured by a pill—well not everything, yet they are working on it!
And because the world seems so unfair, we need strong leaders with laws to regulate society, so everybody gets the same, and thus, political movements of the welfare state, Socialism, and Communism are implemented. This is completely against the intent of the Founders of this nation, which is the freedom from the yoke of slavery under a totalitarian regime.
And indeed, under Communism or Socialism everybody gets the same—the same amount of misery when living under these oppressions, while burying the talents that people are born with. Instead, these societies see the thriving of indifference, drugs, and alcohol use, because initiative is taken from the people, and they can’t keep the fruits of their labor; rather, all is for the common good. Don’t think for yourself either; that may be dangerous to your health, especially when you think that there is a God outside of the Communist/Socialist party! People in these societies become more or less robots and fear is the common denominator. The only ones living in splendor are the rulers and their henchmen.
Socialist countries all need strong fences to keep people in. Many stories abound from people wanting to escape to a free society. But these stories are not taught to our kids. Just the opposite, the glory of this godless worker’s paradise is proclaimed, promoted, and gradually implemented even in this nation, especially through the educational system and its “progressive” ideologies.
It is in human nature to always want more! What is this craving for more? Ultimately, it is the search of the soul to discover the purpose of being. Under a totalitarian regime, people can’t have more, and they lose hope of a better future and become dependent and despondent. In a free society, people can choose to develop their talents and have more—or not—and they can choose to follow their own path to God—or not! This is our God-ordained Free Will.
Let’s rededicate ourselves daily to the Cause of Freedom that this great country gives us through her Constitution, and let us thank God for the wisdom the Founders of this nation exalted by writing this great document with its very important First Amendment that gives the ability to express the belief in our God as we see fit. If the people of this nation would abide by “One nation under God,” we wouldn’t need many rules and regulations.
So, when talking religion and/or politics with someone, keep an open mind. Then we may be able to grow in our understanding and the incredible heritage our Founders gave us. Perhaps it’s time to dedicate a prayer of thanksgiving to God for 250 years of this unique opportunity to experience freedom from religious and/or political tyranny, and to ask Our Creator that both our nation and each of us personally may achieve our true reason for being!
