Scholars, preachers and spiritual pundits of all kinds have interpreted apocalyptic end-time prophecy for their times since 1000 AD. Is it possible? Could we be witnessing the ultimate Battle of Armageddon playing out in our world here and now, today?
End-time prophecy in the West is based on Judeo-Christian Biblical scripture, particularly the Book of Revelation. The deep ethos of Judeo-Christian values and teachings embraces a mysticism and tradition that has, more often than not, been obscured by the very institutions and structures of religion that have outwardly championed it. At its foundation is the age-old battle of light versus darkness; a creator God and his creation; a fall from grace; an evil that opposes that creation (man) from returning back into God’s grace; an apocalyptic battle that ends all battles.
The Bible chronicles that within the framework of man’s fall was a covenant of redemption and return. As man chose to live in alignment with that covenant, he was blessed. As he chose to live outside that covenant, he was subject to outside forces that tormented him—evil. Whether our upbringing, our education or life experience views the Biblical record as fiction, metaphor and/or historical truth, it is still the most influential book ever written in the West and deserves our attention.
The Dragon’s Prophecy by Jonathan Cahn, published in 2024, is an epic dive into prophecy and revelation. It bridges and connects our modern world and state of conflict back to the ancient historical Middle East recorded in the Old Testament. We are witnessing today brutalities on the world stage that corroborate prophecy, such as the October 7, 2023 raid at a music festival in Israel and Israel’s unremitting retaliation in Gaza and the West Bank, both attacks beyond comprehension. Jonathan Cahn takes us into the Biblical history and record and offers a profound insight into the “spiritual forces” that span millennia and are behind the hatred and brutality and war-ring in this region.
Let’s be honest with ourselves. We in the West have enjoyed a sheltered world view and been greatly insulated from the struggle and strife in much of the world. What is emerging today in the Middle East requires our attention, our prayers and compassionate understanding. The New Age phrase, “It’s all good,” has its context and place, but we cannot ignore what is happening on the world scene today. Each one of us has a responsibility and a role to play to secure and preserve our individual and collective liberty and freedoms.
The Dragon’s Prophecy gives us insight as to why there has been the rise and fall of oppressive dictators and tyrants throughout our known history and a seemingly unending cycle of hate-driven war and conflict. It also offers a message of hope and resolution.
Apocalyptic end-times prophecy is not a template for the destruction and end of the world but for the end of an epoch of conflict on our planet, its final resolution, and the beginning of a new age. An age of Peace and Prosperity!
