Sacred Tears

Discovering the Life You Long to Live

Robyn Bridges
November-December 2020 • Vol 3, No 112

We live in such extraordinarily hard times! With the advent of Covid-19, fear is rampant, masks and distancing are mandated, and many are experiencing sorely diminished income and travel restrictions. Wild natural phenomena—floods, fires and hurricanes—are destroying homes and displacing animals and lives. It seems we are beset on all sides by seemingly endless wars and famine in the world, and by civil and political unrest and divisions. It’s such a challenge to find peace amidst all this chaos!

We each have a sacred task during this time, and it’s up to us to recognize it and take action. We can all serve others as we access loving responses to stress, stay in the present moment, and speak with conscious awareness. In addition, there are those who, if not caught in trauma-shock, are feeling called to engage in the world as never before. Some forge ahead on the front lines of social justice.

Adrenals—Our Fire Element! What Are They?

What Weakens Them? How to Restore Them?
Can STONES Help?

Marlenea La Shomb, ND, LMT
March-April 2020 • Vol 3, No 109

The endocrine system is the synergistic interaction of all the glands. It is directly related to our emotional, feeling body and light centers. The adrenal glands are located in the trunk of our body, which in martial arts, is known as the chi or qi area, and our furnace. This gives us our first clue that we’re in the fire element and drinking or eating a lot of cold, icy drinks can put that fire out. In quantum physics (patterns within patterns), it’s the figure-8 flow, as above so below—the Alpha/Omega return current of life’s journeys.

The adrenal glands sit like two tiny pyramids on top of the kidneys, seated on a pad of fat. Simplified, they consist of an outer core and an inner core. The outer core secretes the hormone cortisol, which controls swelling and bacterial, excess heat, also known as inflammation, the precursor to all disease in the body. Along with stress, inflammation is at the core of burned-out adrenals (also known as exhaustion or chronic fatigue). That’s why MDs give cortisone shots.

The inner core of the adrenals releases adrenaline, our jump-start in the morning, and maintains our level of energy all day long. The adrenals are sunlight activated, as all the hormone system is. This gives us our second clue, that sun gazing, used for centuries, is a great way to strengthen, heal and repair your adrenals.

What’s a Breathwork Seminar?

Events in Billings (April 11) & Livingston (April 18)

Denis Ouellette
March-April 2020 • Vol 3, No 109

Breathing isn’t work—it’s automatic—right? So, why attend a Breathwork Seminar? This seminar focuses on the most important, yet most neglected, activity you do to provide yourself with life and vitality! At the Integral Breathwork Seminars, we measure, assess, and work on improving your breathing function first. Then we lie down for a breathwork session that will likely be one of the most life-changing experiences of your life, so far!
After the breathwork session, it’s hard to describe how you feel, but some have tried. Here are some actual words that participants have used:

Happy… Relieved… Alive & free… Expanded…
I feel like myself again!… Peaceful… Warm & tingly…
Strong… Connected to life… Radiant… Aerated!…
Drained & refilled… Comfortable… Effervescent…
Clearer… More present… Phenomenal!

Light Your Fire with Mantras!

Fan the Inner Fire of the Heart to Transform
the Elements of Your Being

Kathleen Karlsen
March – April 2020 • Vol 3, No 109

The five-element system is an ancient healing system focused on the transformation of energy. This system uses a basic set of elements to classify forces in nature, types of food, personalities, symbols, colors, mantras and more.

There are some differences between various natural element systems, although they all share the fundamental principle of change through energy conversion. In the Vedic system, the elements utilized are water, earth, ether, air and fire. Mantras can be classified according to each element.

Although all of the elements are powerful for different purposes, I’d like to concentrate on how to use the fire element and fire mantras to literally light a positive fire in your life. The concept of sacred fire exists in nearly every spiritual tradition. Fire is a physical symbol of the removal of obstacles within and without. In fact, chanting near or over a physical fire can increase the action of mantras in general.

Expanding the Breath of Life

Take a Deep Breath and Sing!

Kathleen Karlsen
January – February 2020 • Vol 3, No 108

To expand your capacity for breath is to expand your capacity for life. The lungs are the ideal container for the breath and for the production of sound. Breathing takes a unique combination of strength and relaxation. As you breathe in, the alveoli—clusters of tiny “balloons” at the ends of the branches of your airways—are filled and expanded. As you breathe out, the “balloons” relax and deflate.

The capacity of the lungs can be increased in several ways, including chanting mantras and singing in general. The diaphragm (below the lungs) and the intercostal muscles (between the ribs) play key roles in both singing and breathing. As you expand your lungs to breathe deeply to sing, the ribs expand and the intercostal muscles will strengthen and increase the potential volume of your lungs.

Solar Sciences of the Spirit —

Solar Meditation, Solar Gazing & Solar Health Practices

David Christopher Lewis
November-December 2019 • Vol 3, No 107

Spiritual seekers of today who desire to deepen their experience of the Divine can benefit from the powerful energies of the sun through the solar sciences. Allowing solar light to stimulate one’s physical body, aura and chakras is an ancient science that can accelerate intuition and inner peace to flow through our consciousness, being, and world.

Knowing and practicing the solar sciences of the spirit will become commonplace and popular as the sensitive ones use their inner gifts and higher talents to co-create conscious communities of light within a quickly evolving, solar civilization.

Solar meditation is a practice that involves arising early and greeting the source of all life-giving energies, the sun.

Conquer Your Astrology with Mantras

Using Astrological Chants to Enhance and Enrich Your Life

Kathleen Karlsen
November – December 2019 • Vol 3, No 107

The holiday season brings to mind the ever-present story of the Wise Men who followed a star to find the baby Jesus. Clearly, astrology is an important science! In fact, some experts in Eastern disciplines view astrology as the main Vedic science connected to mantras.

In his book, Manta Yoga and Primal Sound, David Frawley explains the association: “Mantras work on a subtle level that reflects the same forces as the planets and stars. While astrological positions are patterns of cosmic light, mantras are patterns of cosmic sound.”

One of the most amazing things about Vedic astrology and the use of mantras is that you don’t have to know whether a particular planet is placed well in your chart or not. Although a deeper knowledge of astrology or a consultation with a Vedic astrologer can be extremely helpful, astrological mantras function like adaptogens.

Paneurhythmy—

Harmonizing with Spirit & Nature through Dance

David Christopher Lewis
September-October 2019 • Vol 3, No 106

PANEURHYTHMY is a sacred dance form created by the master Peter Deunov who lived in Bulgaria from 1864 to 1944. He was an inspired teacher of the Perennial Wisdom and embodied both great simplicity and tremendous profoundness and inspired excellence in everyone around him. He taught the art of living in harmony with others, nature and the divine.

Peter Deunov was also a gifted musician who composed the music and the steps for the Paneurhythmy or spiritual exercises, as they are sometimes called. This sacred movement is danced in the valleys of the Rila Mountains in Bulgaria between the Spring and Autumn Equinoxes. Every summer, thousands of people travel to the Seven Lakes in the Rila Mountains to perform Paneurhythmy and to enjoy the beautiful mountains. It is also practiced in many other countries throughout the world: Argentina, Australia, Bulgaria, Canada, Costa Rica, Great Britain, Ireland, France, Germany, Mexico, Philippines, Russia and the United States of America.

Chanting Is Half the Battle!

Recognizing the Need for Protection May Be the Other Half.

Kathleen Karlsen
September – October 2019 • Vol 3, No 106

The old mansion in Chestnut Hills was three stories high, including an attic apartment. There were thirteen rooms for rent. I was in my early twenties and new in town with very little experience living on my own. I responded to an ad, rented a room and started a job in a restaurant downtown.

Shortly after settling in, I found a spiritual organization that appealed deeply to me. I began to attend regular study groups and services. This particular path was going to be a central influence on my soul’s journey for decades to come. My association with the group was a significant milestone.

One day a few months later, a friend I had met at work came over to visit me at the mansion. The phone in the kitchen rang while we were getting something to eat. My friend answered and went upstairs to let the couple in the attic apartment know that they had a call. There were no cell phones or wireless phones back then!

ORGONITES

Purifying Your Environment

Boyd Badten
July-August 2019 • Vol 3, No 105

A few years ago, a dear friend sent me a pyramid made of clear epoxy resin, metal shavings, lapis stones and a quartz crystal that she bought at a gem show. I did not know what it was, but I regarded it as new age artwork at the time. I placed it in front of my computer monitor so that I would notice it each day and send thoughts of appreciation to my friend.

I then began to notice that I was sleeping very deeply through the night, despite decades of insomnia. I also noticed that the stream of thoughts and emotions which I experience “from humanity,” but which are not my personal thoughts and feelings, was dramatically more quiet and peaceful. This continued for weeks but I did not know what had caused the change. About 3 weeks later, a co-worker made a casual remark in an email about “orgonites” and I immediately Googled it. I discovered that the little pyramid I had received was an orgonite, and the shift in energy in my living space started with and perhaps was even caused by the pyramid.
